In the installation wizard, click Install. Run the WinRAR installer using Wine as follows: wine winrar-*.exe Save the file to a preferred location then navigate to that directory using the cd command: cd Downloads Select Windows as the Platform and download the 64-bit version. Once installed, the next step is to download the WinRAR installation EXE file from the official website. You can install Wine on RHEL and Fedora with the following command: sudo dnf install wine On Arch Linux and its derivatives: sudo pacman -S wine On Ubuntu and Debian, you can do so by running: sudo apt install wine To begin, first, install Wine on your Linux machine. You must be wondering whether Linux can run Windows EXE files. There is a way to graphically use WinRAR on Linux, though you'll need to install Wine, a compatibility layer software used to run Windows apps on Linux. As a result, there's no official package labeled WinRAR GUI or the like. The developers of WinRAR haven't developed a native GUI version of the software for Linux. The basic command to create a RAR file is: rar a archive.rar file1 file2 file3 The unrar command is installed with rar, which is the command used for creating archives. To get command-line help related to the program, run: man rar Extract an Archive Using rar on LinuxĬontrary to what you might think, the program to extract a RAR file is unrar, and not rar. Once installed, you can extract and create RAR archives by typing rar in the terminal. On Fedora, RHEL, and other RPM-based Linux distros, issue the following command: sudo dnf install rarĮnter y when prompted to confirm the installation. To install rar on Arch Linux: sudo pacman -S rar On Ubuntu and other Debian-based distros, run: sudo apt install rar It's available in most Linux distro's official repositories and you can install it using the default package manager. Installing WinRAR CLI, or rar on Linux is pretty straightforward. But that doesn't mean you can't use the good old graphical WinRAR on your Linux desktop. But the only "natively supported" WinRAR Linux client is a CLI app called rar.

Compared to the RT sponge, which has an overall curved shape, a pointed but still rounded tip for getting in corners and one flat side.īoth sponges say they can be used wet or dry but i think we all know they’re best used wet. The Ecotools sponges pack in a lot of different angles to work with on one sponge, you’ve got a pointy slanted end, the curved round edge and two different length flat sides. It really depends on whether you’d rather have a variation, or if you like to stock up on lots of the same size sponges to decide on what works out better value for money for you personally. Having two different sizes is the point of the kit however, so the price is virtually the same for the two. The pack at Boots will cost you £9.99, that’s the same price as a pack of two RT sponges, but does work out slightly more expensive than the RT, when you consider the smaller size of one of the ecotools sponges. The Ecotools perfecting blender duo is actually two separate sponges, one for light base application and the smaller sponge for more precise application and higher coverage. I’m going to talk through the “on paper” specifications first (cheeky love island reference), just to get an overview of the two, and then we can get onto my actual thoughts. Today we’re putting the two new sponges on the block against everyones orange favourite, could the RT sponge lose it’s thrown? Gone are the days when the sacred beauty blender cornered the market, Real Techniques changed the game with their affordable alternative, and now everyone is having a go at making their own. The makeup sponge has taken over from the foundation brush, and it’s here to stay. |
